So, how good is it in real life long-term, and is it really worth the money? Those are just some of the questions we’re going to answer today.

First, let’s start with some of the things that differentiate it from other baby monitors, and which I found really beneficial. The main one is the mounting point. As I previously stated, this is one of the reasons most people choose Nanit over pretty much any other baby monitor. And believe it or not, it is one of the things which I like the most.

You get a clear bird’s eye view of your baby at all times. There are no poor angles, hidden spots, or anything similar. You view your baby from the best possible spot imaginable. The second thing I’ve found incredibly impressive is the app. You get notifications that let you know of the movements and even the sounds, so you can attend to your baby whenever necessary.
You can also monitor your baby’s sleep patterns even during the day. The app tells you how long the naps were, and when they occurred. The sensor itself relies on direct contact, but there is one big drawback to this solution. Babies move around, and they can knock the sock off. This would instantly set off the alarm which, of course, would put any parent in panic mode.
Breathable wear on the other hand does not rely on any sensors, but rather on the pattern movement to monitor the baby’s breaths. The app lets you know exactly how many breaths your baby took during a certain time period. There are neither false alarms nor warnings, although I triggered the alarm once accidentally by leaving the wear in the crib on its own.

The alarm was very loud, as it should be, and it startled me for a second. In the end, when it comes to monitoring breathing patterns, this is the ideal solution, at least in my opinion.

So, did I regret my purchase?

Simply put, no. Now to elaborate on the answer I got to say that in my opinion, this is the best baby monitor out there. It has all of the features you could possibly want from such a device, and in my experience it proved invaluable. There’s no better option and I definitely recommend it.

But, some of the more advanced features like the breathable wear, although incredibly useful, I didn’t really use it after the first month. I also used the app less and less as the baby grew, but that was also expected.

Now when it comes to drawbacks, the main one in my opinion is the price. While this is one of the most advanced baby monitors out there, it is not affordable to everyone. Even if you decide to purchase the device, you still have to count on additional expenses that will cover the app.

In the end, just as pretty much anything else in this world, it has its own set of pros and cons. But in this case, the pros overshadow the cons big time, and if I had to buy a new baby monitor I would make the same choice.
